St Naile's Church, Kinawley. This church was built in the year 1876. The architect was William Hague Jr. It was dedicated on 19th February of that year. It was rededicated, after extensive renovations on 30th May 1976. Go Back.

St.Michael's Roman Catholic Church was founded in 1851 following a schism in the nearby St. Louis RC Church. Rev. Lucas Caveg and 19 other German-speaking families splintered from that church to form St. Michael's, constructing a small wood-frame church on the church's present site on Washington Street near Chippewa Street.

The foundations of the present church in Kinawley (built on the 'Barrack Acre', thanks to the generosity of Edward Maguire) were sunk and work commenced around the feast of Saint Naile in 1874 and was solemnly dedicated by Bishop Nicholas Conaty on 19 February 1876.. St. Mary's, Swanlinbar was s 130 years old in 1958 and was in urgent.
