Great show.
While Shameless has lots of drugs, nudity, swearing, etc, it is definitely a show that accurately portrays problems many families go through. Shameless does not glamorize anything, and shows the effects and consequences of things. It is a great show to watch, though seeing kids under 14 watching it doesn't sit right with me, while it depends on maturity, being exposed at a young age could have effects, as young children aren't able to process things the right way. While Shameless portrays hardcore topics, it is still a comedy, meaning some unrealistic things are bound to happen. It is one of my favorite shows, and I highly recommend.

Love this show - NOT for kids
This show is truly Shameless - it's set in Chicago (my hometown) and the main characters are mostly kids who have no parental guidance of any kind and make shockingly bad choices (again, no guidance.) The adult characters are devoid of any morals whatsoever and battle addictions of all kinds including substance abuse, sexual addiction and more. The characters are complex and fascinating to watch (except Ian, the one gay character who suffers from bipolar disorder - his character falls flat for some reason and is less deep than the others.) Although most of the kids are "good people" down deep, the neglect they suffered throughout childhood shows. Not having experienced any of the issues these characters face makes this show fascinating to me.I love this show, but skip through many of the gross and unsavory scenes, of which there are many in each episode. I only watch it when the kids are in bed. Unlike other made-for-adults shows this one has inappropriate material in almost every single scene.

If you don’t let your kids watch porn, don’t let them watch this
I generally liked the show, however, it’s literally pornography and is not suitable for anyone under 18

Personally, I will admit that there is some pretty graphic content in this show. Children under the age of 13 probably shouldn’t watch it yet, but 13 and up is a good age because they need to learn about this kind of stuff, how drugs can affect you, sex, etc. things that they will probably be going through in the next year or 2. Overall, it was a very good show!

amazing
i would totally let my kid watch this once they get older, it talks about real problem she or me might face in the future such as drug use, alcoholisum, teen pregnancy, sex and much more but just cause you see a boob many times in the show isnt the real part of the show its the fact that this show could show kids and teenagers that doing things like that can lead you to having a bad life and being addicted to alcohols, drugs and much more and i dont want that for anyone, im not saying let you're kids watch this at 9-12 but once they are a teenager they would think this is cool cause some shows show high schoolers smoking but watching a show that not only has these little problem ruined there like they would not want to do it its a great exemple for a life nobody wants so let you kid watch it and if you feel weird for them watching the nudity just skip it its not that big of a deal.

Garbage
I watched some of season one and two. I just can’t. It’s so inappropriate for anyone who s brain is still developing. There is nothing funny about trafficking, alcoholism, or pedophiles. These are serious issues that adults are struggling to deal with never mind kids! An immature teen should not be influenced by this crap. So much awful language and basically porn! I mean would a virgin even understand the sex they were seeing? To top it off gays are shown in a terrible light. Not all gay men are crude, preditorial, or cheaters. I don’t know why any parent would let their teen watch this.

Call CPS
I can’t believe parents would let their under age kids act in something so age inappropriate I felt like calling CPS after episode one. Hollywood get a clue and stop exploiting women and children. I’m tired of shock value shows on Netflix because writers are so out of original, entertaining ideas. William H. Macy is too good of an actor for this bad of a show. Netflix this gets no stars and I find bad writing inappropriate for any age which should be a choice on common sense media.

Not For Kids Of Any Age
After hearing so many glowing reviews about what a phenomenal show this is, I finally rented the first season and sat down to see what all the excitement was about. I forced myself through the first thirty minutes of the pilot episode and turned it off.I, as a grown woman who went to public school, am not overly sensitive to the alcohol, drugs, and swearing elements (middle school kids have comparable mouths on them these days), but the *literal* pornographic content was so, so overkill. Whether it's 'realistic' or not (every kind of horrific thing is 'realistic' somewhere in the world) constant graphic sex scenes, crude sexual conversations, and scenes of kids viewing pornography are not things that any kid should be absorbing. It was all so gratuitous that after I finished showering and felt clean again, I couldn't even take the show seriously.
